welcome everyone back to the giraff getting started Series so in today we're going to take a look at our same project that we're working on on fig Street we've nearly completed it now we've sort of built out the the model geometry some options as well over in the layers panel and added some annotations identifying key design strategies within the project so the next thing we're going to look at in today's session is the app panel so on the right hand side I've got it currently closed but let's open the app panel here and we can see some of this data that's flowing through from the geometry that we've drawn on our site so the first one at the top um is urban so Urban metrics here gives us a snapshot um of some key metrics all being Dynamic dynamically driven from what we draw on the site so we've got some GFA we've got an FSR that's driven by the site boundary that we drew in an earlier um video and some other key metrics about our geometry along with a residential
yield and mix down the bottom so we've got an apartment's total and that's being driven by the usages that we have applied here so if you're interested in checking out that we have other videos if you want to skip back in the series um but that is a snapshot of the urban tab um one of the four core apps that are loaded in with every giraffe project so the next one along is analytics so
analytics is a um as a more detailed breakdown um I previously selected the option um start from template so if you're opening up analytics from the first time you'll need to select start from template in order to populate what you see here on the map so it's a as I said a more detailed breakdown of the data that we can see all again Dynamic so as I'm adjusting the floor levels here using Q&A on my keyboard we can see the numbers are adjusting um for the net building area and building um FSR as well so a very powerful feature that is um that you can see these changes as you make iterations to your design as you go um the next one down is the solid tool so I'm just going to quickly run a solo analysis um we've got a window here that we can adjust so if I say it's a 9 tool 3 is the window that we're interested in depending on where you are and what study you're looking at so now we've got this cover color overlay onto the buildings and we if we hover over
the facade we get an indication of how many hours of sunlight each of those facades are receiving and also the landscape as well it's got this hex grid overlay so there's a performance attribute Associated there as well I'm just going to stop that analysis and then the last app here is terrain so opening up the terrain app we need to First enable the terrain up the top right so if I select that we can see that it's now p pushed the buildings up onto that topography um that's being pulled into giraffe so there's a number of properties here we're not going to run through all of them today but the two that I do want to focus on is turning on the color terrain based on cuton field just to help us visualize those changes and then adding a building pad so I'm going to select the plus icon brings us into our edit mode toggle into 2D and I'm just going to draw a rectangle around my um Tower here
and double click to finish that so now if I toggle back into 3D mode I can see that it's positioned my building onto my building pad which is nice there's a Association there and I can actually adjust this building pad further so if we knew that we had to bring that up say above the flood level I can introduce an elevation datum so selecting the building pad brings up the properties on the left hand side and I can then type in an elevation data so let's say 25 maybe that's too much let's say maybe 16
o 16 and we can see that start to build up so it looks quite level here and let's exaggerate that a little bit further so go for 20 hit enter and we can see that green color appear and increase the intensity of that over on the left hand side so if we make that a 10 we can see that that's nice and green and we know there's fi required there um fill required across the site actually and we can start to adjust that building PAD as
well all right so I'm just going to disable that terrain it'll drop the building back down onto the ground plane and that is the app panel
