Markers vs Labels


Giraffe offers 2 ways of adding text or image annotations to the map:

Add annotations to your model with these tools:

Labels


Labels are the easiest way to annotate a point, line, region or building in Giraffe.

Add label to existing to add a label to something you've already drawn - like a building or region.

You can also add labels by clicking Add new property → Marker

Label content

To edit the label content, click Edit Contents in the Label section **in the left bar.

  1. Kind: Outlined, Text, or Icon
  2. Text to display Type any text to manually update your label

  1. Properties selector

    The label border and colors can be edited, or you can get rid of the background completely. For more control over how the label appears, or to add images or popups, Upgrade to a Text Marker.

  1. Label size

    Adjust with the slider, up/dn arrows, or by typing any value. Use decimal values to make text smaller than 1.0.

  2. Text color

    Pick any color from the selector, or make the text transparent by clicking the crossed circle.

  1. Stick or no stick: Select stick visibility. Change stick height upon adding a stick.
