When you open Giraffe, you probably started in Scratchpad. Scratchpad is an area where you can play with layers and geometries without saving your work - just like a back of the napkin sketch!
To save your work, you need to create a Project.
Once you create a project in Giraffe, your changes automatically save.

If you have work already on the map, like layers, lenses, or geometries, that you would like to save, proceed to the next section to define a boundary ( The Project Boundary)

To start a new project from scratch, do one of the following:
Navigate to menu > new > new project
Select the project switcher > New Project.

🚨 Note: Clicking new project will clear all geometries, lenses, and layers from scratchpad!

A new blank project will open, ready for you to define the project boundary and save.

For enterprise: The New Project modal will appear.
Click one of the Templates to apply those settings to your new project. You can also start from the Giraffe defaults by clicking “Blank”

The project boundary is an important metric. It drives FSR/FAR, open space ratios, and more.
There are multiple ways to The Project Boundary.
Draw your boundary. The boundary drawing tool works the same as for any other shape in Giraffe.
Finish or save
Click Save project as to create a new project.
