Edit Properties of selected Features in the properties palette.

The properties palette is located in the Left Panel - Working Data. It opens automatically when you select a geometry on the map canvas. You can also open it by clicking the spanner (wrench) icon when you have a geometry selected

1. Editor Type

Giraffe allows you to use hundreds of properties to fully control the appearance and assumptions of your designs. However, all of the nuanced properties are not always necessary. The Basic properties palette view exposes 99% of what you need for day-to-day work in Giraffe.

If you’re looking for something very detailed, try opening the “All” view to find properties like Slab Thickness or Line Cap.

2. Add Property

Click “Add property” (plus sign).

Scroll the list, or type a value in the search box to find the property you would like to add.

You can add multiple properties before you close the window.

When clicked, properties are added to the form for the selected element.

Built in Properties will appear in the category to which they belong within the palette list.

Click off of the properties list to close it.

If the property has already been added, it will be indicated in the selector

If the property does not exist, you will be prompted to create Custom Properties if desired.

Custom Properties will appear at the end of the list in the Analytics category.

Can’t find the property you added?

Advanced properties like Slab Thickness or Hide Verticals or properties intended to be set at the Usage level like Floor to Floor will appear in the “All” (advanced) form.

3. Search Properties Palette

When you’ve added a lot of properties to a geometry, it might be hard to find a specific value. Use the search to find it.

4. Layer

Displays the drawing layer on which the selected feature is on.

Change which of the Drawing Layers the selected Features should be stored on by selecting another layer from the drop down.

You can also create new Drawing Layers from the dropdown. Scroll to the bottom to select “New Layer”

Apply Usages to the selected Features from this drop down.
