The project boundary is an important metric.

It drives FSR/FAR, open space ratios, and more.

It feeds coverage ratio calculations in Urban Calculations and values in Site Components in Analytics.

Create a boundary

There are many ways to set your site boundary.

Option 1: Draw a boundary manually before defining a project.

From Project Mode:

  1. Click “Draw Boundary” in the top right

  1. Draw your boundary. The boundary drawing tool works the same as for any other shape in Giraffe.

  2. Finish or save

    Click Save project as to create a new project.

From Home Space:

  1. Click “quick create” in the top right

  1. Draw your boundary. The boundary drawing tool works the same as for any other shape in Giraffe.
  2. Input the project info, and save

Option 2: You can set the boundary to a map geometry.

  1. Right click on a map element and click 'Set' on the contextual menu.
  2. You can merge multiple geometries into one boundary by right clicking on them and clicking 'Merge' on the contextual menu.
  3. Finish or save

Or Click Save project as to create a new project.

Option 3: Use Lens to select vector polygons

  1. Click the 3 dots to the right of the layer name. Select “Open Lens Controls”

  2. Click any layer shape on the currently-Lensed layer with Lens Controls open.

    Select the checkbox on the layer in the list to add the polygon to the selection set.

  1. Add shapes to projects

With one or more polygons selected, click “Add to new project” to create a new project with that polygon as the boundary.

The project save modal appears. Edit the project name, add a template, and edit workspace property values

You can choose to open that project now or wait until later.

With multiple polygons selected, Click “create multiple projects from selection” (double arrow button) to create one project from each polygon.
