A dendrogram is a diagram that depicts hierarchical relationships. A dendrogram is often used to assign objects to groups.

The Flow Builder (Legacy) in Giraffe uses dendrogram assumptions. Transforms branch from the initiating geometry. And branch again. One shape becomes many. And the designer can visually track the inputs and outputs in an intuitive node-based editor.

The Flow Builder 2.0 has ported these existing transforms for use in the new node-based interface.

Dendrogram Inputs

Every dendrogram node requires a “Transform” node, which adds all of the user inputs.

The user inputs determined in the Transform node appear in the Flow Controls section of the Properties Palette.

Each transform has basic defaults set by the software. To override those defaults in your project or template, click “Edit Defaults.”

The defaults window opens on the right. The inputs are the same as what shows in the properties palette with some additional settings:

Publish: Toggle off to hide the parameters from the properties palette. The defaults set by the transform will be applied and end-users will not see the inputs to edit.
