In Giraffe, your canvas is a map of the entire globe!

To start, Search the map for a location.

The Map Search is located in the Bottom center Toolbar, to the far left. The button looks like a magnifying glass with a map behind it.

Click the button to expose the search bar.

Enter an exact address, city name, or landmark.

Add Layers

Layers are map data.

Giraffe allows you to connect to GIS data from any 3rd party source - public or private. You can even use Giraffe to create and host your own data layers. That GIS data is displayed on the map as "Layers.”

Giraffe has curated thousands of public data layers, and you can also add your own.

Define the Project Boundary

Create projects (with boundaries). The project boundary is an important metric. It drives FSR/FAR, open space ratios, and more.

  1. Right click on a map element and click 'Set' on the contextual menu.
  2. You can merge multiple geometries into one boundary by right clicking on them and clicking 'Merge' on the contextual menu.
  3. Finish or save
